miles north east of Beijing. This city has a population of about 7 million. The 1,000-foot
tower of concrete and steel can be seen in the background. At the 600-foot level there is
a revolving restaurant, dance hall, and tourist viewing area. There are three floors
reserved for radio equipment. The tower contains equipment for four VHF and two UHF
channels and a number of FM stations.
