waveguide can be seen under the ice bridge for each channel. Both stations use an Astre
Systems 240 kW MSDC transmitter. This site is located in Dallas, North Carolina, about 25
miles west of Charlotte. Both transmitters have four MSDC klystrons in visual service
each, working into a "switchless combiner" and two aural transmitters into a
separate "switchless combiner". Any klystron may be turned off, serviced, and
returned to air without any loss of programming. Either half of this transmitter, (120 kW)
may be turned off completely, serviced, and returned to air without program disruption.
