 The Constant Efficiency Amplifier (CEA) which combines a multi-stage
depressed collector onto an Inductive output tube (MSDC-IOT). The result is a
device TWICE as efficient as either an MSDC klystron or an IOT alone. The
footprint of the CEA is about the same size as current IOT devices. Power
efficiencies are at the 60% level compared to 25-35% for an IOT or MSDC
klystron. |
